Arsenal were keen to snap up Isco this month, as they searched for a playmaker to improve their squad.
However, the Spaniard was apparently reluctant to relocate his family to London, so soon after his child was born.
Arsenal have now turned their attentions away from Isco, and seem to be targeting his Real Madrid teammate Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard is less experienced than Isco, but is a player in a similar mould.
The Norwegian is comfortable with the ball at his feet, and could inject some real creativity into this Arsenal team.
The Gunners are thought to have competition from a number of sides for his signature, but Mikel Arteta’s men are determined to get the deal done, as they look to find a new number 10 this month.
