According to the Daily Mail, Rangers now don’t have to face Lyndon Dykes this afternoon as he’s on his way to Queens Park Rangers.

It’s claimed that QPR have agreed a £2million deal to sign Dykes, and he will now sit out today’s game against Rangers.

The Gers kick off at the Tony Macaroni Arena in a matter of hours, and have been handed a late boost by their former manager.

Ex-Rangers boss Mark Warburton has pounced to land Dykes, inadvertently doing his old side a favour mere hours from kick off.

Rangers themselves had been strongly linked with Dykes, with the Daily Record noting last month that the Gers were still keen on him – but had reservations about the £2million asking price.

Instead, Rangers went and signed Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten, effectively taking themselves out of the race for Dykes.

The Australian is now heading to England, having racked up 12 goals and 10 assists last season in a superb campaign for Livi.

Dykes is a physical nuisance, so Rangers defenders will no doubt be delighted if the news of his absence from today’s game is true.
