A source has told 90Min that Luis Diaz’s start to life at Liverpool has helped convince Darwin Nunez of a move to the Premier League. Arsenal and Tottenham are among a group of English clubs said to be in talks.
Benfica have defied odds to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals and Nunez has played a huge part in that. The 22-year-old has four goals in eight Champions League games for Benfica.

His last goal in the tournament came to beat Ajax 1-0 away, after a 2-2 first-leg draw – sending Benfica into the next round, where they face Liverpool. His 26 goals in 33 games this term has caught the eye of English clubs.
90Min report that Arsenal, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle are speaking to his agents. But it is the form and early potential of Liverpool star Diaz that has helped convince him to move to England.
A source told 90Min: “He has seen just how well Luis Diaz has performed and settled into life, but also the clubs have seen that and they believe Nunez could be just as good if not better.”
Arsenal is the best place for Nunez, if Tottenham keep Kane
Arsenal are winning the race to qualify for the Champions League this season, sitting in fourth – three points clear of Spurs and with a game in hand. The Gunners desperately need a Champions League-quality striker.
Nunez has shown, this season, that he is just that with his four goals in eight games. Alexandre Lacazette could stay, but even if the Frenchman does, Arsenal need a new attacking lynchpin and Nunez would be perfect.
Tottenham are also in talks but if Kane stays, Nunez is only going to warm the bench. A similar case for Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. Villa and Newcastle have the cash and ambition, but lack European football.
