Celtic are pressing ahead with their attempts to land a new manager – and one linked manager could be heading elsewhere.
Eddie Howe is emerging as the clear favourite for the job right now, with The Scottish Sun reporting that he could be named as the next Bhoys boss this week.
There is still work to be done, but Howe is the hot favourite, which means that Lucien Favre is now having to look elsewhere for work.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Favre wants the Celtic job, having been out of work since losing his job at Borussia Dortmund back in December.
Favre’s impressive work at Borussia Monchengladbach and Nice made him an appealing candidate, whilst he certainly helped develop some of Dortmund’s top young talents.
Now though, France Football state that Al Hilal are making a move for Favre, and are prepared to offer him huge money in an attempt to lure him over to Saudi Arabia.

Favre could earn up to €8million-a-year at Al Hilal, which comes out to around £130,000-a-week in wages – a deal Celtic would surely have no interest in matching or even getting close to.
That’s a staggering offer for Favre, and few would blame him for taking that money instead of trying to cling onto hope of joining Celtic, with Howe now closing in.
