Aston Villa are reportedly nearing a deal for Lovre Kalinic.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are making progress on a deal to bring Gent goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic to the club during the January transfer window.
Villa signed two goalkeepers over the summer in Andre Moreira and Orjan Nyland, but neither move has paid off; Moreira has barely featured and Nyland has flopped in goal so far.
Manager Dean Smith may subsequently look to bring in another goalkeeper in January to finally nail down that No. 1 jersey, with rumours suggesting that he could be closing in on his first signing as Villa boss.
The Birmingham Mail report that Villa have been in talks about a deal to bring Gent stopper Kalinic, and a deal is progressing well ahead of January.
Kalinic, 28, has starred for Gent since his 2017 move from Hajduk Split, and also has 16 caps for Croatia having taken over from Danijel Subasic since the World Cup.

Intriguingly, Kalinic was a 2015 target for Villa, and a deal to sign him from Hajduk was close to completion before he failed to land a work permit.
Now, more than three years on, Kalinic could finally be heading to Villa Park, in what would be a hugely exciting move for Villa in January.
