Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion reportedly suffer late setbacks in their pursuits of a new striker.

The 25-year-old centre-forward scored eight times last season in all competitions and was of interest from the two Championship sides. However, Moron has rejected the offers from the clubs in an attempt to fight for his place at Betis this season.
The report states that West Brom and Cardiff offered Real Betis a fee up to £9.2million in an attempt to secure his services before the transfer window shuts in England later today. With a deal for Moron looking close to dead barring a last-minute miracle, Slavan Bilic and Neil Warnock will have to look elsewhere to get other deals done.
The Bluebirds are in a much better position compared to their Championship rivals in the striking department with the likes of Danny Ward, Garry Madine and new signing Robert Glatzel among others available to do a decent job next season.

The Baggies, on the other hand, suffered major blows with the departures of Jay Rodriguez to Burnley and Dwight Gayle back to Newcastle after his hugely successful loan spell at the Hawthorns last season. Bilic now has Kenneth Zohore as his only available centre-forward at the club and he will be desperate to bring in at least one more striker before the end of the transfer window.
Moron would have been a very good signing for West Brom to replace Dwight Gayle but if they fail to find a replacement soon, they will be going into the season with a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Zohore. The Danish forward had a hugely disappointing season in the Premier League with Cardiff for whom he scored just once in 19 games.
