According to Gianluca Di Marzio, CSKA Moscow striker Adolfo Gaich has arrived in Italy to join Benevento.

It’s stated that the striker is initially joining on a six-month loan deal, but Benevento could land him permanently next year.

There is allegedly an option to extend the loan by another year if he appears in 50% of Benevento’s games, and they can then turn the move permanent for €11million (£9.7millio) in June 2022.

Gaich has allegedly been a long-standing target for Leeds United, with Marcelo Bielsa heavily linked with bringing his compatriot to England.

El Intransigente reported in September that CSKA pipped Leeds to signing Gaich, but also that Bielsa would be keeping tabs on his progress in Russia.

Sadly, Gaich hasn’t been able to replicate his fine San Lorezno form with CSKA, notching just one goal and one assist in 18 games.

The burly target man has endured a miserable time in Russia, and now heads to Italy to try and get back on track.

Leeds seemingly haven’t missed on much so far, but Bielsa may still choose to keep tabs on the 21-year-old once his move to Italy goes through.
