Jovane Cabral is well-known to the Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho, according to Record.
Cabral has been strongly linked with a summer move to West Ham United or Fulham, although it has also been claimed that a mystery English side is with them in the running.
And there is talk that club could be Tottenham.
But Record claims that, despite the Sporting winger’s presence on Mourinho’s radar, Tottenham have ‘other goals in mind’ this window.
Cabral scored or made nine goals in 16 league games for the Portuguese giants last season – all but three of which arrived in an eight-match spell following the June restart.
And three English clubs, including West Ham and Fulham, are seriously considering moving forward with formal proposals close to the amount – €20 million (around £18m), plus add-ons – Sporting intends to negotiate for, according to A Bola.

Though born in and capped once by Cape Verde, Cabral has stated his intention to play for Mourinho’s native Portugal at international level.
The 57-year-old has already brought one player, Gedson Fernandes, to Tottenham from Portuguese football.
