The Mail+ claim newly-promoted Fulham want to raid Arsenal for a second time this summer and sign right-back Cedric Soares – after already completing a deal to land Bernd Leno from the Gunners earlier on in the window.

Leno, 30, has made an excellent start to life at Fulham – after completing an £8m move to the Cottagers. Marco Silva’s side have been busy this summer, bringing in seven new senior players – although, they have just got promotion again.

But that number could increase on deadline day. The Cottagers are being linked with a number of players and Euro 2016 winner Cedric is the latest one. The German-born Arsenal star is yet to play a single minute for Arsenal this term.

Indeed, Cedric has only managed to make the matchday squad in three of Arsenal’s five league games. All of which, the Gunners have won. He could do with a move, as Ben White continues to play on the right ahead of Cedric so far.

Now, the Mail+ state Fulham are showing interest – despite the addition of Kevin Mbabu. It is unclear if Fulham would prefer a loan, or a permanent deal for the German-born Portugal man. The defender’s Arsenal deal ends in June 2024.

It would be a move that suits all parties. Fulham would be bringing in a player with huge Premier League experience to help their defensive line under Marco Silva, surpassing 150 top-tier outings in English football during the 21-22 season.

Cedric would be joining a club where he knows he will be first choice, and getting regular game time. It also means he can still stay in London, where he currently lives. For Arsenal, they get a fee in for the right-back on deadline day.
