Football London’s Alasdair Gold says Championship quartet Middlesbrough, Swansea, Preston and QPR all want to sign Tottenham talent Troy Parrott on loan. It comes after a wonderful 2021-22 season with MK Dons.

Still only 20, Parrott clocked up 47 appearances for MK Dons in 2021-22. He helped them reach the League One play-off semi-finals, only to lose 2-1 on aggregate to Wycombe – despite scoring the winner in a 1-0 win.

However, MK lost the other leg 2-0 and Wycombe went through – losing to Sunderland, who boast Jack Clarke and Dennis Cirkin among others. Now, Parrott returns to Tottenham but the plan is to send him on loan again.

Spurs want him to go on loan and there are four interested including Swansea and Middlesbrough. He has a contract at Spurs until June 2023, but there is an option to extend that deal by another year.

Parrott needs to show he can do it in the second tier of English football, if he is to stand any chance of breaking into Antonio Conte’s side. He starred for MK Dons last season, scoring 10 and creating seven assists.

On the international stage, Parrott is excelling. He now has four goals in 14 caps, including two in his last three caps. He got a goal and an assist in a brilliant Nations League 3-0 win over Scotland on Saturday.

Where would be best? Parrott needs to join a side where he will get chances and score regularly. QPR play a nice brand of attacking football, Boro will be in and around the play-offs. But Swansea is the best combination of both.
