Pepe Reina could add another European giant to his collection of clubs this summer, with the Aston Villa loanee lined up for a move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain according to FootMercato.
There are not many better footballers out there right now with a CV that can match Reina’s.
The 37-year-old has sampled the sweet taste of silver with Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Napoli and has featured between the sticks for Napoli, Villarreal and AC Milan. Did we mention he conquered Europe and the world with the Spanish national team?
Reina has never showcased his cat-like reflexes in France, although there is time for him to put a pin in another top league before he swaps his studs for slippers.
FootMercato claims that PSG will turn to the Aston Villa veteran this summer, identifying Reina as a replacement for fellow Spaniard Sergio Rico at the Parc des Princes.
This comes just two weeks after the FA Cup, Bundesliga and Coppa Italia winner admitted, during an Instagram Q&A, that he was unlikely to stay at Villa Park beyond this season with Dean Smith’s side staring relegation in the face.
“After the loan to Aston Villa I have to go back (to Milan),” he said.

While Reina’s most recent Premier League outing didn’t exactly go to plan (his first-half blunder set Leicester on their way to a 4-0 rout), the ageing ‘keeper has rolled back the years on plenty of occasions since returning to English shores.
If that virtuoso display against Tottenham is anything to go by, he should have no problem living up to expectations at PSG.
