Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur wanted Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso to force through his move to the club – but he wouldn’t do it.
Spurs are in the market for a new playmaker, given concerns over Christian Eriksen’s long-term future, and a host of names have been linked.
Speculation over Bruno Fernandes, Paulo Dybala and Philippe Coutinho continues, and some may be wondering what the latest on Giovani Lo Celso is ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Estadio Deportivo in Andalusia now claim that Spurs asked Lo Celso to force a move, but he rejected their idea because he doesn’t want to ruin his relationship with Betis after they gave him a chance to kickstart his career.
Intriguingly though, Sky Sports News (06/08/2019, 19:30) claimed that Spurs are back in talks for Lo Celso, seemingly plotting moves for four playmakers in the hope of signing at least one of them.
The 23-year-old hit 16 goals last season whilst on loan at Betis from Paris Saint-Germain, showing why he was so highly rated at Rosario Central many years ago.

He has been Mauricio Pochettino’s top attacking midfield target all summer, and their pair are actually from the same area of Argentina, potentially making a move more appealing to the playmaker.
However, it wasn’t enough for Lo Celso to spoil his relationship with Betis, and whilst talks may be back on, Spurs are running out of time to sign a player they’ve been tracking for months.
