According to Christian Falk, speaking to Caught Offside, Jude Bellingham is reportedly keen on the idea of joining Liverpool and being part of a potential rebuild at Anfield.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool for a while now, with Jurgen Klopp said to be ‘obsessed’ with signing the England international.
The journalist claims that Bellingham is attracted to the prospect of helping to lead Liverpool out of their current crisis.
The Reds have struggled for form this season and are currently languishing in eighth place in the Premier League, 19 points behind league leaders Arsenal before the start of play on Saturday.
Additionally, they are facing an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages after suffering a 5-2 loss to Real Madrid at Anfield this week.
If Liverpool are to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title next season, they will need to strengthen their squad in several areas, particularly in the midfield.
Bellingham could be the answer to those midfield problems, and he reportedly envisages himself as being the player who can help the Reds get back to glory.
At the age of just 19, Bellingham certainly has time to take on this type of long-term project, and even if it takes a few years, he could well be the man to lead the Merseyside club into their next great era.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will make a move for Bellingham in the near future, but the prospect of him joining the club is certainly an exciting one for fans. Klopp has a track record of developing young talent and helping them reach their full potential, and Bellingham would undoubtedly benefit from working with the German manager.
