Liverpool’s plan to sign Norwich City full-back Jamal Lewis for £10 million is set to fail, according to the Telegraph.
Liverpool have become keen admirers of Lewis, and were plotting a move for the 22-year-old.
However, it is claimed that Norwich want far more than Liverpool were preparing to offer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side had planned to bid £10 million for the Norwich defender, but it seems that would be a rather fruitless exercise, as the Canaries would ‘instantly reject’ such an offer.
Norwich want at least £20 million for their full-back, which may may Liverpool think twice about signing him.
The Reds had wanted Lewis to provide cover for Andy Robertson at left-back next term.
However, with Norwich demanding a sizeable fee, Liverpool may have to look at alternative options, given their limited budget.
