Coutinho returned from international duty with Brazil this week, but is a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Southampton.

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho had a precautionary scan on a hamstring injury, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Coutinho was photographed outside a hospital in the city, sparking fears the Brazilian could miss tomorrow’s Premier League game against Southampton at St Mary’s.
Sky Sports reports that he is a doubt for the game. The 24-year-old returned from international duty with Brazil late on Wednesday night along with teammate Roberto Firmino.
The Reds are already set to be without Adam Lallana who picked up a groin injury during the first half of England’s 2-2 draw with Spain on Tuesday night.
If Coutinho is not part of the starting line-up at St Mary’s it could see a place in the side for Daniel Sturridge – who would likely line-up alongside Firmino and one of Liverpool’s several ex-Southampton players Sadio Mane.

Coutinho had a similar problem earlier on in the season ahead of Liverpool’s game with Tottenham in August and was able to play for an hour in the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane, but in that case he hadn’t had a long-haul flight to contend with in between.
Nevertheless, Jürgen Klopp has options available to him, but given the sparkling form Coutinho has been in this season, he will want him available for what is sure to be a test of the league leaders title credentials.
