Liverpool’s Ovie Ejaria is joining Sunderland on a half-season loan deal, according to the Sun.
The report claims Ejaria has been cleared to leave Anfield for the Stadium of Light, after failing to appear for Jurgen Klopp’s first team this season.
And capturing the 20-year-old, an attack minded central midfielder, would be a case of third time lucky for Sunderland manager Chris Coleman, who has already failed with moves for Liverpool pair Danny Ward and Ben Woodburn.
Ejaria moved to Liverpool from Arsenal’s academy in 2014, and is said to be regarded as one of the Reds’ top prospects, with eight appearances under his belt already.
And Sunderland will be hoping for an instant impact – should a deal go ahead – given their placing in the Championship’s bottom three.
Coleman has so far added Chelsea’s Jake Clarke-Salter and Brighton’s Kazenga LuaLua to his options, and is expected to sign at least one striker ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline, after losing James Vaughan and Lewis Grabban this month.
