Liverpool have reportedly failed with a move for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
According to The Mirror, Liverpool have made their first move for Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – but have seen their approach snubbed.
The Reds broke their transfer record last week by signing Roma winger Mohamed Salah, and manager Jurgen Klopp is now pressing ahead with plans for more new signings.

Despite having the likes of Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum, another midfielder appears to be on Klopp’s agenda, but his first move for a top target has allegedly failed.
The Mirror claim that Liverpool have made their first formal approach to sign Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the Gunners have snubbed that move.
However, with talks over a new contract stalling, it’s claimed that Arsenal may yet be tempted into doing business with Liverpool this summer, with the report adding that there is a growing belief that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be playing elsewhere next season.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined Arsenal from Southampton in the summer of 2011, but has been left frustrated by a lack of playing time, a number of injuries and being played in a variety of positions.

A move to Liverpool may give Oxlade-Chamberlain the chance to play in his favoured central midfield role, whilst also offering greater depth out wide behind the likes of Salah and Sadio Mane.
With just one year left on his Arsenal contract, Liverpool will be hoping to tempt their Premier League rivals into a deal before his value plummets – and whilst their first approach has been snubbed, don’t expect this to be the end of Klopp’s pursuit of the England international.
