Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a potential loan deal for Liverpool striker Divock Origi.

It has been a mixed window for the Magpies thus far. There has not been a lot of activity on Tyneside, but the deals they have done look to be fantastic pieces of business with Martin Dubravka and Ki Sung-yueng arriving permanently while Kenedy has returned for a second loan spell.
Origi has endured a difficult spell with Liverpool since joining in the wake of the last World Cup. BBC Sport reports that the Reds spent £10 million on the Belgian – who arguably outshone Romelu Lukaku in Brazil four years ago – but he has only managed to score 21 goals in 86 games in all competitions.

Much of his time has been spent out on loan, and it appears that the Magpies are hoping that they may be able to lure him to St James’ Park on similar terms this summer.
Though Origi’s record at Anfield does not exactly jump off the page, his goalscoring return in the Premier League should actually encourage Newcastle fans if anything does get done this summer.
The 23-year-old has scored 12 goals in 51 top flight appearances, but has only started 21 times in the league, so there is certainly reason to believe that he could prove an inspired signing if he does end up joining on loan this summer.
