Liverpool youngster Joe Gomez is set to return from his long-term injury and will be available for pre-season, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The defender ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while on international duty with the England Under-21’s eight months ago.
It was a cruel blow for the 19-year-old, who had made a fine start to his Reds career after joining from Charlton Athletic last summer.

His return will be carefully managed to ensure no recurrence of his injury, but he will certainly be a part of their tour of the USA.
Once his fitness has been brought back up to standard, it will be interesting to see what role he has to play in Jurgen Klopp’s side next season.
They are short on defensive options with Kolo Toure leaving the club and Martin Skrtel’s future up in the air, and Gomez may fancy his chances of featuring under the German.
