Watford have been linked with Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are willing to sell Lazar Markovic for £12 million in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

According to the report, Liverpool signed Markovic from Benfica in the summer of 2014 for £20m when Brendan Rodgers, now at Celtic, was in charge of the Reds.

Watford have been offered the chance to secure the services of the 23-year-old winger, claims the report in The Mirror.

Marco Silva was appointed the Watford manager earlier this summer, and the Portuguese boss worked with the Serbia international last season.

Markovic joined Hull City on loan from Liverpool in the January transfer window when Silva was in charge of the Tigers.

It seems that Liverpool have given up on the 23-year-old winger and are willing to take a £8m hit on the Serbia international.

It would make sense for the former Partizan and Benfica winger to leave Liverpool in the summer and join a club where he is actually wanted.

Markovic scored two goals in 12 Premier League appearances for Hull last season.
