Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the German winger.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Insider, Liverpool are ready to make their move to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt, as Jürgen Klopp continues to explore alternative options to Nabil Fekir.
The German has already spent big this summer, splashing out just under £100 million on midfield duo Fabinho and Naby Keita, but his business seems to be far from finished.
The Reds are still yet to replace Philippe Coutinho following his £145 million exit to Barcelona in January, and the addition of another top class attacking wide player will be of paramount importance to their hopes of making a sustained push for the Premier League title this season.
That player was close to being Nabil Fekir, before the Lyon ace’s proposed move to Anfield collapsed at the 11th hour last month.
Calcio Insider claims that Liverpool have shifted their attention to Leverkusen ace Julian Brandt, and are preparing to meet his €60 million (£53 million) buy-out clause.
At just 22-years-old, the 18-capped Germany international is one of the continent’s brightest prospects, and he would surely prove to be a fantastic asset to Jürgen Klopp’s side.
Whilst £53 million seems like a lot of money on the face of it, in today’s day and age it actually represents decent value for money, especially for someone with Brandt’s quality.
And if Klopp manages to bring him to Anfield, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Liverpool.
