According to an article in The Times penned by the ever-reliable Paul Joyce, Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.
The ‘elite’ youngster has been linked with a move to the Reds for some time now, and it looks as though a deal has finally been agreed for the right-back to head to Anfield.
However, there is some bad news for Liverpool fans within this story. Ramsay will reportedly be the Reds’ final signing in this summer transfer window.
Liverpool have been one of the most active teams in the window so far this summer, with Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez already arriving, but now, it looks as though they’re going to throw the breaks on their spending.
Of course, things can change very quickly within football. A mammoth offer could come in for Mohamed Salah which would certainly spring the Reds into action, or perhaps a career-altering injury could plague another star player.
Although, with any luck, Liverpool won’t actually need any more signings this summer.
Indeed, the Reds are well-stocked in almost every position, and while there may be an argument to make for signing a new midfielder, the trio of Thiago, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson should see them through for at least another year.
Liverpool do reportedly have plans to sign another new midfielder in 2023, but as for this summer, Reds fans can sit back and relax knowing that there will be no more incomings this summer.
