Liverpool have reportedly abandoned all interest in Manuel Lanzini.

According to Football.London, Liverpool were keen on signing West Ham United playmaker Manuel Lanzini, but have now abandoned their interest in him.
The Reds have only dropped two points in the Premier League this season and won last season’s Champions League, meaning there aren’t many areas for them to improve, but they are sometimes criticised for having a lack of creativity.
Choosing to sell Philippe Coutinho in January 2018 and not replacing him with a similar player was an interesting choice, and whilst it’s worked well for the most part, some games they do lack another playmaker.
It’s now believed that Liverpool did want to sign West Ham’s Lanzini, but are now thought to have abandoned any interest in the 26-year-old.
Of course, Lanzini did pen a new four-year deal in August worth £70,000-a-week (Spotrac), which may well have impacted any Liverpool interest, but his form has been patchy in 2019 too.
Lanzini did fight back from a terrible knee injury, but took a while to get going towards the end of last season, and his last couple of games for West Ham have been disappointing too.

Lanzini undoubtedly has quality, but he would need to become more consistent to earn a move to a team like Liverpool, who would be looking for regular contributions from a player who can sometimes frustrate.
Maybe there’s a chance that Liverpool will come back in for Lanzini at some point, but there’s also a strong chance that the ship has sailed on such a move – and that will be great news for West Ham, who will happily keep and cherish Lanzini at the London Stadium.
