According to Corriere Dello Sport, Liverpool have shown an interest in signing Cagliari defender Sebastian Walukiewicz.
It’s claimed that Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have all shown an interest in Walukiewicz, whilst Inter Milan have also been keen.
However, Walukiewicz has decided to extend his contract with Cagliari, signing a renewal until 2024 on on Thursday.
This report does though suggest that the contract may be more of a ploy for Cagliari to bring in even more money for Walukiewicz if they decide to sell.
The 20-year-old centre back joined Cagliari from Pogon Szczecin in January 2019, starting his career in Italy just months later after returning to Poland on loan.
Walukiewicz already has three senior caps for Poland, and has shown real potential during his time in Serie A.

The 6ft 2in defender has shown that he can play out from the back as well as displaying how good he is in the air too.
That should be hugely appealing to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, as they need centre backs who can build attacks from the back in Klopp’s system.
With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both set to miss the majority of the season, Liverpool may need a centre back in January – but Walukiewicz’s new deal complicates their pursuit of the Pole.
