Liverpool are reportedly in the race for Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa.
According to FC Inter News, Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in snapping up Fiorentina forward Federico Chiesa this summer.
Chiesa, 21, has hit 11 goals for Fiorentina this season, as well as hitting eight assists having become one of the top talents in Italian football.
The son of former Italy international Enrico Chiesa, the Fiorentina youngster looks set for a huge future, and clubs are now queueing up for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
FC Inter News note that Inter are keen to land Chiesa, and are willing to offer either Yann Karamoh or Eddie Salcedo in a part-exchange deal.
Napoli and Liverpool are also credited with an interest, but Fiorentina want around €70million to $80million (£60million to £69million) for Chiesa this summer, which is huge money.
Liverpool may well look for that additional attacking threat given their reliance on Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, and Chiesa fits the bill for Jurgen Klopp.
Chiesa’s versatility makes him hugely appealing, as he has played down the left and right flanks, as well as behind the striker and up front, meaning he can cause havoc from anywhere in the final third.
With Klopp often playing 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 with a false nine, Chiesa could be the perfect versatile player to fit in a host of roles in those systems, but whether they’ll pay what Fiorentina want remains to be seen.
