Liverpool are allegedly closely monitoring the Italian.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Il Messaggero, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Lazio hitman Ciro Immobile, with a view to making a bid for the 28-year-old this month.
The Reds have one of the most dangerous attacking line-ups in world football, but Jürgen Klopp has little to call upon in reserve, so bringing in some extra competition this month would be a wise move from the German.
And Italian publication Il Messaggero claims that Lazio front-man Immobile is being eyed by Liverpool as a potential January target.
The Italy international is a prolific number nine in every sense, and he’s been in fine form this season, chalking up an impressive 13 goals and seven assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.
Immobile announced himself as one of Europe’s best strikers last season, when he notched up 40 goals in 46 games, and that kind of potency in front of goal really could take Liverpool to another level.
According to the Mirror, he could be available for just £45 million, and in today’s day and age, that would surely be considered as excellent value for money for Liverpool.
If Klopp does manage to bring Immobile to Anfield this month, it could turn out to be the signing that takes the Reds over the line this season.
