According to 90Min, Tottenham Hotspur are confident of signing Beijing Guoan defender Kim Min-jae – despite Liverpool casting admiring glances his way.

It’s claimed that Spurs think they will soon find an agreement with the Chinese side over a deal, though there is work to be done.

Tottenham have allegedly been in talks for weeks now, but have yet to offer more than £10million – despite Guoan seeking £15million.

Two bids have been rejected, but there is confidence on all sides that Kim will end up becoming a Tottenham player this summer.

Kim ahas allegedly been on Tottenham’s radar for three years now, but he has also been watched by Liverpool as they weigh up a new centre back.

Dejan Lovren may leave Liverpool this summer, and Kim would fit as a low-cost depth option in Jurgen Klopp’s back line.

Their interest is a warning to Tottenham that they could miss out if they don’t increase their bid soon, even if they believe they will still land him.

Branded ‘the South Korean Virgil van Dijk’ – which is pretty bold – Kim may fancy teaming up with international teammate Son Heung-min at Tottenham, and the signs are pointing towards that move, even with Liverpool lurking.
