Could Liverpool return to Southampton for yet another of their players?

Southampton's Dusan Tadic has a shot at goal

According to a report from the Times, Liverpool are planning another raid on Premier League rivals Southampton, this time for Dusan Tadic.

The Reds may have stepped out of the race to sign centre-back Virgil van Dijk after an alleged illegal approach but that has seemingly not stopped them from trying to do business with the Saints all together.

As stated by the Times, Tadic can leave St Mary’s if a club matches his £13million release clause and the player is said to be keen on a move to Anfield after growing disillusioned to life under current Southampton manager Claude Puel.

The 28-year-old Serbia international has featured 121 times for Southampton to date, scoring 17 goals and providing 31 assists in the process, and while last season was not his most productive he could go down a storm at Liverpool if he arrived.

Given the inflated transfer market, a £13million deal would be an absolute steal and Southampton would be loathe to let him go, especially to Liverpool after the Van Dijk saga.

That said, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will be looking for more attacking threat despite the talent he already has at his disposal, and Tadic’s versatility means he could play in a whole host of positions for Liverpool over an entire campaign.

Only time will tell how this one plays out but Liverpool are unlikely to turn away from a bargain if the player is genuinely keen on a switch to Merseyside.
