According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Liverpool wanted to sign Ndombele last year, and that a move to the Reds on loan this summer would be “ideal”.

Stats

Ndombele joined Tottenham from Lyon in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth €60 million (£53.06 million).

According to WhoScored, the Frenchman has made 12 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process.

The 23-year-old has also made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League for the North London outfit this campaign, providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Unlikely summer transfer

Ndombele has had injury issues and has not really made a huge impact at Spurs, and Liverpool would find better midfielders than him this summer, even amid the current economic uncertainty caused by the global health crisis.

Moreover, Spurs may not be willing to send a midfielder to a rival Premier League club.
