According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are tracking Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby, who Everton enquired about in May.

What’s the story?

Well, Calciomercato believe the Reds are monitoring the 22-year-old’s development over in the Bundesliga.

Paris Saint-Germain – who actually sold Diaby for £12.9m – are also said to be interested in bringing him back to the Parc des Princes.

You can see why Liverpool are interested.

Diaby has started the campaign in good form with three goals in six Bundesliga appearances, while also providing one assist.

It comes after the 2-cap France international impressively scored ten goals and provided 15 assists last term – remarkable numbers, to say the least.

As aforesaid, Everton also seem keen – Foot Mercato believe they made contact with Bayer Leverkusen over a potential deal back in May.

What could Moussa Diaby offer Liverpool or Everton?

Whoever lands the Bayer Leverkusen No.19 will be getting a gem.

Diaby is able to play on either flank, which will surely please Jürgen Klopp as he looks to provide competition for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

He’s also been likened to one of the best wingers to have played the game – Arjen Robben.

The Bundesliga’s official website made the comparison, and found similarities between the two in their tendency to cut inside from the right onto their left foot.

Diaby is also lighting fast, and excels at dribbling.

In our view, this has all the makings of a top Michael Edwards signing.

Promising goalscoring numbers, a relatively low profile and plenty of years to get even better, Diaby would be a fantastic fit at Anfield under Klopp.
