The Mirror report that Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle all want to sign Preston wonderkid Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile, after the Argentine teenager scored five goals in an FA Youth Cup win over Rotherham.
The 16-year-old has thrown himself onto the scene after smashing five goals past Rotherham’s Under-16 side in the FA Youth Cup, during a 6-1 win. With scouts aplenty, some of England’s biggest sides have become interested in the star.
Rodriguez-Gentile also holds the ability to play for either Brazil or Spain. The report claims that all four Premier League clubs are considering a move to land the striker – who is closing in on a first-team debut at Preston under Ryan Lowe.
The Preston manager himself has described Rodriguez-Gentile as “fantastic”, but is wary of throwing him in at the deep end. Now, he may not even have the chance to do that, with England’s biggest clubs tracking the talented striker.

So, what is Rodriguez-Gentile’s best move as things stand? He might be better off staying at Preston, continuing to learn his trade and then break into the first team. Something he stands no chance of doing at any of those interested.
But of course, the chance to play in the top tier of Premier League 2 at 16 will also be tempting. The lure of perhaps one day, being able to represent one of these great clubs is hard to ignore. Which of the four, would be his best move?
Antonio Conte does not place faith in youth and a chance of a breakthrough at Spurs is small. Probably the same at Manchester United, who continue to throw cash at their issues. But at Liverpool or Newcastle, he may have a chance.
Liverpool are constantly giving their young stars a chance under Jurgen Klopp – Stefen Bajcetic starting for Liverpool on Thursday evening in the Carabao Cup. Newcastle have brought Elliott Anderson in. They are his best options.
