Liverpool are reportedly interested in the young Italian.

The central midfield department at Anfield will be a concern for Jürgen Klopp, as Emre Can edges ever closer to the exit door, and the German will surely be looking to bolster his options in the summer.
Barella would be a useful option for the Reds, but he won’t come cheap.

Calcio Mercato claim that Cagliari bigwigs have told Liverpool officials that they will have to part with £45 million, if they want to sign the young Italian in the summer.
The 21-year-old possesses excellent technical ability, and is comfortable in possession. He is a wonderful passer of the football, and whilst he is still very young, he is the kind of player who will surely mature into someone who can dictate the tempo of the game from the middle of the park.
Whilst £45 million sounds like a lot of money on the face of it, in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market, it actually represents decent value.

One potential concern with bringing any player from Italy to England, irrespective of their age, is whether they will be able to handle the more robust nature of the competition.
Whether Liverpool will deem £45 million for Barella to be too much of a risk, though, remains to be seen.
