Leeds United are facing competition from Liverpool for Ben White, according to Leeds Live.

White spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Leeds from Brighton and Hove Albion and played an important role in Marcelo Bielsa’s side clinching automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds Live has claimed that the Whites are ‘very keen’ on bringing White back to Elland Road for next season, but it has been reported that the Reds are facing competition from Liverpool.

With The Times reporting that Dejan Lovren is set to leave Liverpool for Zenit Saint Petersburg for £10.9 million this summer, the Reds are ‘poised to step up their interest in White’, according to Leeds Live.

Liverpool or Leeds United?

White progressed well under Leeds head coach Bielsa, and there is no surprise that the Whites reportedly want the 22-year-old back for next season.

However, Liverpool are the Premier League champions and will play in the Champions League next season as well.

The chance to work with Jurgen Klopp and play alongside the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson would be very tempting indeed for the 22-year-old.
