According to The Telegraph, Liverpool will be forced to stump up £500,000 if they qualify for the Champions League this season.
Why? Well, that money will be going to Schalke 04 if qualification is secured, as part of the loan agreement for Ozan Kabak.
Liverpool signed the 7-cap Turkey international on Deadline Day, in a loan deal lasting until the end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will be paying an initial £1 million loan fee for the 20-year-old.
However, as aforementioned, that will turn into an overall cost of £1.5 million should they qualify for Europe’s greatest club competition before the season finale against Crystal Palace on May 23rd.

Regardless of this small fee, it’s still a fantastic deal for the Reds.
Michael Edwards has effectively brought a top, top talent to Anfield, where Klopp can have a lengthy look at Kabak before making a long-term decision on him.
The BBC state that Liverpool can sign the precocious centre-back for £18 million if they are happy with his performances between now and the end of the season.

In our view, we presume the Reds won’t mind paying an extra £500,000 if they can qualify for the Champions League again.
Doing so would go a huge way in helping the Premier League champions secure their summer targets.
In most cases, it goes without saying that every top player wants to be turning out in the Champions League.
