Liverpool have reportedly decided to keep Simon Mignolet and let Loris Karius go.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is willing to let Loris Karius join Besitkas on loan with a view to a permanent move after deciding to use Simon Mignolet as his second-choice goalkeeper, according to The Mirror.

The German’s future at Anfield has been a subject of some debate since Klopp spent £66 million on Brazil star Alisson earlier this summer.

Karius endured a rotten pre-season campaign with Liverpool, after making two massive errors in the Reds’ Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid back in May.

And The Mirror has now reported that Klopp is ready to let the ‘distraught’ 25-year-old join the Turkish outfit, who would have the choice to sign him permanently next summer.

The report adds that Klopp would prefer to use Mignolet as Alisson’s back-up after the Belgian keeper failed to secure a move to Napoli last week, with the Italian transfer window now closed.

Some Liverpool fans might be disappointed to lose Karius after the potential he showed for most of the second half of last season, but many more will be delighted to see the back of him.

The former Mainz man has endured a career-defining last few months and few can say that Klopp didn’t give him chances to make up for his horror show in Kiev.

But mistakes in a couple of pre-season friendlies appear to have ruined his chance of ever making amends for what happened in Ukraine – in a Liverpool shirt at least.
