According to a report, Liverpool are set to miss out on a £2 million lump sum this summer.

The Reds’ Director of Football Michael Edwards sold Rafael Camacho to Sporting Lisbon for £5 million last summer.

It was a deal that was full of add-ons – including a 20 percent sell-on clause – and one was related to appearances.

If Camacho played more than 30 games for the Portuguese giants this season, Liverpool would’ve been entitled to an additional £2 million.

But with the 20-year-old only playing 21 times, it is now impossible for him to play nine more matches, according to Record in Portugal.

Camacho, who has played 14 Primeira Liga games this season, made a handful of first-team appearances under manager Jurgen Klopp – including one in the Premier League – and the German was keen for him to stay.

But according to BBC Sport, the player rejected the chance to sign a new contract in favour of returning to Lisbon.
