The Liverpool Echo claim Liverpool are to hold talks with Neco Williams regarding his future this summer. His form in the Championship with promoted Fulham has convinced Liverpool there is no rush to sell him.
Having only managed eight appearances for Liverpool during the first half of the season, Wales international Williams – who has already amassed an impressive 18 caps for his country – joined Fulham until the summer.
He has starred for Marco Silva’s side since. Rated at £10million (Echo), Williams has played 14 times for Fulham – 13 in the Championship, scoring two goals, laying on two assists. He has been crucial in gaining promotion.
The Echo report that Liverpool were ready to cash in on Williams, but the defender’s form at Fulham has seen Liverpool perform a u-turn. They are now willing to keep him and will stage talks on his future in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Williams – telling Liverpool’s website that Williams “trains like a machine”.

It is perhaps not up to Liverpool, as much. Williams has now tasted first-team football and with potential participation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, should Wales get there, he will want to be match fit.
So, he needs to be playing regularly and if he cannot get assurances of that at Liverpool – with Trent Alexander-Arnold easily first choice – he should leave. A move back to Fulham would be perfect, following promotion.
