Report: Liverpool to complete second signing of the summer imminently

Liverpool will complete the signing of Thiago Alcantara shortly, that is according to AbendZeitung.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the Bayern Munich midfielder throughout the summer so far, and there is confidence in Germany that a deal will be sealed sooner rather than later.

The latest report claims that Thiago will join Liverpool ‘shortly’ for £27 million.

If Liverpool do close on a deal for Thiago he will become their second signing of the summer, following the earlier arrival of Kostas Tsimikas.

Unlike Tsimikas, Thiago would be a signing to impact on Liverpool’s starting line-up straight away.

The Spaniard is one of the finest midfielders in world football, and his arrival at Anfield would be hugely exciting.

Liverpool dominated in the Premier League last term, but there is a feeling that adding Thiago would help to make them even stronger.

And the belief that a deal will be done for Thiago only seems to be growing stronger in Germany over recent days.
