Liverpool are planning to make Marcelo Pitaluga the long-term heir to Alisson Becker at Anfield and, according to UOL, the Fluminense goalkeeper’s family is keen on a move to Anfield.

For the second summer in a row the newly-crowned Premier League champions are focusing on fresh-faced talent rather than top-level superstars.

And reports from Brazil suggest it’s only a matter of time before Pitaluga joins Harvey Elliott, Sepp van den Berg and co on Merseyside.

Globo Esparto recently reported Liverpool are in talks with South American giants Fluminense and have offered Pitaluga’s father a job on Merseyside to sweeten the deal.

UOL has now provided an update, stating the teen sensation is viewed at Anfield as the “heir” to £63 million Alisson – Brazil’s number one and arguably the best shot-stopper in world football.

Liverpool’s interest in Pitaluga may come as something of a surprise, however.

Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp and emergence of Michael Edwards as one of the market’s best negotiators, the 2019 kings of Europe have made a habit of luring some of the best young talent to England.

But Liverpool aren’t exactly short of promising goalkeepers, with Caoimhin Kelleher and Kamil Grabara highly rated at Anfield.

Javi Cendon, the former Villarreal starlet, has also been training with the Reds during pre-season.
