According to Leggo, Inter Milan are in desperate need of cash and could be forced to part ways with Stefan de Vrij, who is wanted by Liverpool.
The 43-cap Netherlands international is a key component of Antonio Conte’s side, making 32 appearances as Inter Milan won Serie A.
Alongside Milan Škriniar, he is described as a player who the Italian giants would like to keep at the San Siro.
However, Leggo state that there is an openness to sacrifice him or Škriniar for the sake of keeping the club afloat.
This will surely be of interest to Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp.
According to FC Inter News, the Reds have made contact with De Vrij’s agent, Mino Raiola.
This news could well be true, as Liverpool have had a long-standing interest in the 29-year-old.

Back in the summer of 2017, Klopp and Michael Edwards saw a bid rejected for De Vrij when he was at Lazio, as covered by Football Italia.
Nearly four years on from that offer, the Dutchman has improved significantly – so much so that he’s now a champion of Italy.
De Vrij has also played alongside Virgil van Dijk for the Netherlands.

In that respect, perhaps Klopp has seen something he likes from the duo on international duty, and wants to replicate it at Anfield.
After the rigours of the global pandemic, it feels wrong to poach on a club who are in a desperate situation.
However, football is a ruthless industry.
If Liverpool really do want De Vrij, there may not be a better time to sign him.
