Liverpool may be keen on signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but he is now talking to Jadon Sancho about Manchester United.
That’s according to The Independent, who claim that there is growing optimism at Old Trafford about Bellingham.
The Red Devils seemingly believe that Bellingham will join Sancho at United in the future – despite interest from Liverpool.
Michael Edwards wants Bellingham at Anfield, but the midfielder is talking to Sancho about the ‘vibe’ at Old Trafford ahead of a possible move.
Bellingham and Sancho on a similar path
You can easily see the parallels between Bellingham and Sancho.
Both made daring moves to Borussia Dortmund after being branded wonderkids in England.
Both players excelled in the Bundesliga at a very young age. Both players featured in England’s Euro 2020 campaign under Gareth Southgate.
Sancho left Manchester City for Dortmund before coming back with United.
The expectation is that Bellingham will do the same in terms of coming back to England. Liverpool and United both want Bellingham, as do Chelsea.

How can Liverpool attract Bellingham?
You can imagine United offering more money than Liverpool – both in terms of wages and transfer fee.
So just how can Liverpool win the race?
They can offer Bellingham the chance to play under Jurgen Klopp. Bellingham has found a real attachment with Dortmund, and Klopp lived and breathed Dortmund.
Klopp pushes the high energy, high intensity style synonymous with Dortmund even after Klopp’s own departure.
Liverpool also know that Bellingham grew up admiring Steven Gerrard. Offering Bellingham the chance to be Liverpool’s new midfield hero has to be appealing.
Right now, Liverpool have more of an identity on the pitch than United. That does seem important to Bellingham, and it’s the kind of thing Liverpool need to emphasis if they do move for the teenager.
