Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the Barcelona ace.
According to a report from the Express, Liverpool will intensify their efforts to bring Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele to Anfield this summer, after their failed move for Lyon ace Nabil Fekir.
The France international joined the Spanish giants from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, for a fee that could eventually rise to £135 million, according to the Guardian, but he failed to live up to expectations during his debut season in Spain.
The 21-year-old scored just four goals for Barca last season, and his future at the Camp Nou seems to be uncertain to say the least, especially considering the La Liga side’s reported pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
The Express claims that Jürgen Klopp will now switch his attention to Dembele, after Liverpool’s move for Nabil Fekir collapsed over the weekend.
Good signing for Liverpool?
Despite Dembele’s struggles in La Liga last term, he still remains one of the continent’s most exciting young prospects, and he would be a quite simply sensational addition to the Reds’ setup.
The France international possesses pace in abundance, and his explosive playing style seems to be ideally suited to Klopp’s high-octane philosophy.
Much will depend on how much Barca demand for the winger’s signature, however, and the Spanish side will surely be determined to keep faith in the young Frenchman for another season at least.
