The Liverpool hitman is reportedly facing a race against time in order to be fit for tomorrow’s Champions League game.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Roberto Firmino is a major doubt for Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at Anfield tomorrow night with a virus.

The Reds head into the game in second spot in the Premier League table, level on points with Manchester City, although they do have a game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side, so they will be in fine spirits.

Bayern will represent a real challenge for Liverpool, however, and Jürgen Klopp’s side will have to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating the Germans.

They might just have their work cut-out, though.

Sky Sports claims that Firmino is a big doubt for the game tomorrow with a virus.

The Brazilian has firmly established himself as one of Liverpool’s most important players over the past few seasons, chalking up 61 goals and 44 assists in 178 appearances.

So having to make do without him against Bayern will be a bitter pill to swallow for the Merseyside outfit.
