Liverpool have returned with a better offer for Mohamed Salah, after their opening £28 million bid was rejected by Serie A giants, AS Roma.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, the Reds are offering almost double Salah’s current wages, as they look to seal the deal for one of their prime summer transfer targets.

Salah reportedly earns £50,000 per week. The report states that Liverpool have put together terms worth around £90,000 per week to Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas.

Liverpool are still locked in negotiations with Roma who are holding out for a £40 million transfer fee for the exciting 24-year-old forward.

Salah rejected a move to Liverpool to join Chelsea in January 2014, but Jurgen Klopp wants the winger to bolster his squad for the next season.

The Egyptian star has enjoyed a brilliant 2016/17 season in Italy where he scored 19 goals in all competitions. He was equally brilliant in creating chances for others, having provided 11 assists in the Serie A last season.

The Times reported on Friday that the winger is keen on moving to Merseyside. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can improve their bid to around £30-£35 million for the player, which should be enough to conclude the deal.
