Liverpool want to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia even after completing the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai.
Romeo Lavia could be Liverpool’s next big target after the Reds secured the arrival of RB Leipzig playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Liverpool remain interested in securing Lavia from relegated Southampton.
Liverpool have splashed out for a second big-money midfield addition by announcing the £60million arrival of Szoboszlai today.
The Hungarian joins Alexis Mac Allister in what could be a new-look Liverpool midfield – especially with another addition potentially on the cards.
Lavia is wanted in a deal which would see Liverpool’s midfield investment this summer head towards £150million.
The Belgian looks likely to leave Southampton this summer following their relegation and Liverpool are now right in the mix to sign him.
The idea may be to have Lavia compete with Fabinho for a holding role in Liverpool’s midfield with Mac Allister and Szoboszlai going further forward.

Liverpool face a huge battle for Romeo Lavia
Fabrizio Romano now claims that both Arsenal and Liverpool are in direct contact to sign Lavia, speaking to both Southampton and the player’s representatives.
The London Evening Standard claim that Chelsea are also interested in signing Lavia, so there is a real fight going on for his signature.
The Belgian has enormous potential and has been hailed as a ‘very special’ player by Jadon Sancho.

Manchester City do have a buy-back clause on Lavia having sold him to Southampton last summer, but they can only activate it in 2024.
That means Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are now scrambling to try and sign Lavia before City have chance to swoop in next summer.
We don’t think it will get to that stage given that Lavia should move this summer, but nothing is stopping City from making a bid this summer.
Liverpool will see huge potential in Lavia and will believe that he can be a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield for years to come – but it will take another hefty outlay after landing Szoboszlai.
