Liverpool hope to avoid Roberto Firmino repeat.

Reported leaked documents claim Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino has a release clause of 98 million Euros in his contract.

The claims were made in Belgian newspaper Le Soir, and also reported by HLN.

Firmino signed for Liverpool in 2015 from Hoffenheim for £29 million, The BBC reported at the time.

His reported release clause works out at a staggering £83 million, more than the reported £75 million Barcelona paid for Luis Suarez in 2014.

The one club reportedly banned from activating the clause are Arsenal, with a nod to frayed relations between the Reds and the Gunners over Luis Suarez in 2013.

Arsenal infamously tried to buy Suarez for £40 million plus £1, in the belief their offer had activated his release clause. Liverpool denied this and blocked a move. This time regarding Roberto Firmino, they are leaving nothing open to misinterpretation.
