Liverpool could be looking to complete one of the most important piece of summer business, with reports emerging of Virgil van Dijk choosing Anfield move over other suitors.
Jurgen Klopp, the Reds manager, made Van Dijk his top priority, and the club would back him with funds to secure the deal.

Manchester City and Chelsea were also keen on signing him, but it seems the player is attracted by Klopp’s vision and Liverpool’s project.
The Guardian reports that the Dutch defender has informed that he wants to move to Merseyside. The Reds are yet to agree a fee for the 25-year-old, but they are willing to meet an asking price that may reach £60 million.

The Anfield club are also prepared to match City’s offer of a contract worth around £200,000-a-week for the former Celtic defender.
He would become Liverpool’s record signing should the deal go through. The Reds have already signed young striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and are reportedly looking to sign Mohamed Salah from AS Roma as well.
If the deal materialises, it can be seen as a huge statement of intent for the Reds in the transfer market. It would also show that FSG share Klopp’s vision and are prepared to back him in his endeavours.
