Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the young Italian this summer.
According to Sardinian media outlet La Nuova Sardegna, Liverpool are set to step up their pursuit of Cagliari midfield ace Nicolo Barella ahead of the summer transfer window.
Jürgen Klopp will be desperate to add more competition for places to his midfield department in the summer, with James Milner on the wrong side of 32, and Emre Can set to leave Anfield for pastures new.
La Nuova Sardegna claim that Liverpool are keen on signing the 21-year-old, who is valued at around €45 million (£39.4 million), although they will face competition from the likes of Roma, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
