According to Goal, Liverpool scouts have fancied Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly as they eye up a new left back.
It’s claimed that Liverpool’s scouting team flagged up Kelly as a potential signing last summer as they eyed up a new left back.
The Reds chose not to sign Kelly, and he instead moved on to Bournemouth from Bristol City in a deal worth around £13million.
Kelly had impressed with Bristol City, but has struggled with injuries this season. The 21-year-old has made seven Premier League appearances this season, with just one coming before the break.
The 21-year-old has mostly played as a centre back for Bournemouth, but he can also play at left back.
Liverpool are thought to be looking at Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis, but having shown an interest in Kelly before, he could be on the radar again.
Liverpool have shown a willingness to sign relegated players, landing Gini Wijnaldum, Andrew Robertson and Xherdan Shaqiri in consecutive years between 2016 and 2018.

If Bournemouth go down, then Kelly could come to the fore as a Liverpool target once again, with his versatility perfect for Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool could do with another left back to offer cover behind Robertson, whilst his ability to play at centre back means he could replace Dejan Lovren and kill two birds with one stone.
Kelly stands at 6ft 3in tall and possesses impressive speed for his size, so don’t be shocked if Liverpool look towards him as an option to add defensive depth.
