Should Liverpool move for the Brazilian left-back or look elsewhere?

According to an exclusive report from Calcio Mercato, Liverpool are on red alert after Inter Milan furthered their attempts to sign Nice full-back Dalbert this summer.

The Serie A side have reportedly agreed terms with the 23-year-old but continue to fall short of the French club’s £26.5million valuation; their latest offer coming in at a £13.2million with £4.4million in add-ons.

That has not been enough to tempt Nice into business and with Liverpool still on the lookout for a new left-back of their own, it is being suggested that they will be paying close attention to the Brazilian’s situation.

The presence of Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho at Anfield means Dalbert would be able to settle at the club surrounded by his countrymen, but it remains to be seen if the Reds think the full-back is worth his price tag.

Dalbert was a regular for Nice last season, appearing 38 times and setting up four goals in the process. He is the right age to make a move to the Premier League; old enough to settle relatively quickly but young enough to improve considerably in the years ahead.

The report from Calcio Mercato claims Dalbert has his heart set on a move to Inter and has no intention of moving to Liverpool. However if negotiations remain at an impasse and the Reds actually come in with a bid of their own, they could change his mind?

After all, Liverpool are back in the Champions League next season and fellow Brazilians have a habit of impressing at Anfield.
